Sarah Elizabeth (Miner) Sprague was born on Aug. 8, 1894 (or 1895) in York Twp., Carroll County, IL, the daughter of Daniel L. and Mary Elizabeth (Hodges) Minerd.
On March 16, 1916, Sarah married John Sprague (1894- ? ) in Jefferson, Greene County, IA. John was a native of Chester, Thayer County, NE, and the son of Cynthia Sprague.
The Spragues resided in Cedar Twp., Floyd County, IA, where they owned and operated a farm. They had one son, Jesse E. Sprague.
Sadly, Sarah died of unknown causes in Cedar Twp. on March 10, 1919, after just three years of marriage.
John's widowed mother came to live with them, and they are enumerated together on the federal census of 1920.
John later married again to Helen M. (?). They resided in Cedar Twp. and had at least one son of their own, Jack D. Sprague.
The fates of John and Jesse are unknown, but will be added here when learned.
