Thomas H. White
(1845- ? )

Thomas H. White was born in 1845 in Fayette County, PA, the son of Perry G. and Charlotte (McClatchey) White. He is believed to have been a soldier in the Civil War.

When Thomas was a boy, his mother died, and his father remarried to Mariah Minerd.

He served in a military unit during the Civil War, but the exact regiment is unknown.

There is conflicting information about Thomas' fate. His father's 1886 obituary implies that Thomas might have died during the Civil War. However, another important source -- the obituary of his sister Mary Frances Turner -- states that he was living in Iowa circa 1904.

His life and military record are being researched at a deeper level to sort out fact from fiction.
