Iola Kans 4-3-1904

My Dear Mabel

I will try and drop you a few lines this morning to let you know that. I have not forgotten you. I should have wrote you long ago and I dont blame you for scolding me a little bit. I was very sorry to hear of you being sick. I hope you are better by this time. We are all well but your mamma. she is still having trouble with her Lungs. she suffers a great deal all the time. this is a beautiful Easter morning. how are you going to spend it? We are going to the Baptist Church this morning and then going to Mr Ashleys for Dinner. they are friends of ours. they were our old neighbors in Hutchinson Kan so you see it [is] like going home to go there. Well it seems like all of the Haseville People are going to Isabel. it makes me want to go back there and see them.

I do wish you would come out and see us this summer and stay all summer with us. I dont see why you cant go to school here this winter. they just have excellent schools here. the only objection I have-whites and Negroes go to the same school and you know that dont suit a Democrat like me. but I expect I had better be a little careful how I talk for you may be a Republican. but we wont fall out over politics. Katies sister Edna, the one we have always had, is going to be married next Wednesday. I expect you have seen her picture. Blanche and her had them taken together in Hutchinson. we will be left with just the two little Boys. We have been keeping quite a number of boarders but we will quit now for it will be to much work for us after Edna is gone. Well Mabel I guess I will close for this time. I cant think of much to write about for you dont know any one out here. I will try write oftener after this. Write soon.

Love from all.

your Papa
