Dear Sister & Bro

I see sue has left space for me but I cant say that I have much to write as I guess she has told all the news. but I guess if you wer here I could talk you blind. Helen why cant you come out this Fall on those cheap tickets? If it was as cheap going to your placeI bet we would come. It looks very much like Rain this morning & I have got 3 loads of oats to stack yet before I am done. but if it will only rain they may go. Old Bearh said you wer geting very dry in Mo. did he tell the truth. Well we are preparing for our annual Picknick. will have a big time. the first Saturday in Aug. come over and go with us. If it is a nice day you will see about 2000 people there. we talk of going to Pratt this week to the big Mass Meeting of the Alliance & Nights of Labor. they are going to have men from Washington to speak. have raised $700.00 to entertain the people. the Alliance & Nights have concolidated in this State & are carrying every thing before them. you can hardly find a Laboring man but what belongs to one or the other. Now I expect you cant read this for I have wrote this in a hurry before Breakfast. Write some.

As ever your Bro Less

Dear Sister & Family,

I expect you are just giveing me fits for not answering your letter wich I received some 5 or 6 weeks ago. Well I was very glad to hear from you. I did not intend it should have been so long unanswered. but you know how it is your self. We get our minds & hands taken up in our family work & keep putting our correspondets of from time to time. but, while I do not find time to write I do not forget you. No indeed I have thought a great deal about you in the past week. I wondered if you were thinking of the sad time we had a year ago. Past week was somehow a sad week. & lonely too I guess it was more lonely than common because ______was away. & sad because I was thinking so much of a year ago. This leaves us all well as usal. Blanche has been quite unwell since I last wrote you. I got some medicine for her & she is much better. she had a lump come right on her throat under her ear. the Doctor said it was scroffula. She talks every thing so plain. I went plumming yesterday & left her with Jennie & she staid all night. She is broke out with heat some. I have had panties on her ever since before she was two years old. She is real good about them & was not hard to learn she was not like Mable. she just wouldent tell till she was three years old I guess. she was so provoking. Pa is as well as usual. he has just got a pump in his well. just the pump & he is going to be the wind power himself. I have not been up since they got it. just got it yesterday & Dick hasnt been home since some time in May. he has been to Kingman sorking in the salt work but his work was at night & he could not stand it & went to work on the Tellegraph line going south to Harper. he has never written a work to us since he has been away. I wrote to him once while Blanche was so poorley but he never answered it. he sent Late a 4 dollar check to get the children some clothes. they have had nothing this summer that is the first he has ever sent them. Jennie is still at Pa's. I dont know how long she will stay. She gets out of paticients some times. I have never cut Blanches hair. only in front. it is real long & so nice. I keep the sides braided & pin the back part up with a hair pin. I just asked her what I should tell Aunt Helen & she says tell her to come & see me. She has been passing Less & I the water & now she has climed up on Less's lap & wont let him read. We were to meet at Ollies this afternoon to Practice some for the picnic but it is so hot Ollie wont sing or play on the organ a bit since Ray died. says she cant. I dont think she does right. She takes it very hard. has began to be little more cheerful than she was. Late has just come in & says tell you he would be much obliged if you would answer his letter. said he wrote a sheet full, Shirley that was a big letter for him. Well, I dont remember as you asked any particular questions in your last. where did you spend the 4th. I cooked for harvest hands. they bedded our wheat. we havent thrashed yet but I want too fairly soon, for I am getting tired of buying flour. we did not have enough last year after sowing (?) to bread us but think we will this year. It is very hot & dry & some are getting afraid it will put the corn crop short. It looks well yet but wont long if it keeps this way. it looks some like rain but there has so many rains went round us. there has been so many come in through here. I say crops look the best in through here of any place they have been. I do hope we will have a crop again. Tell us how the wether & crops are there. Mollie & Charley were down 3 weeks ago. Mollie talks some of going to Ohio this fall, & Ollie talks of going too but I guess dont know cert in yet. & I did think I would go back (but not to Ohio) but to MO but I cant tell yet. Oh Hellen, you dont know how bad I want to see my Brothers & Sisters that are still there. I had to give it up last fall & I expect it will be the same way this. I think you & Carrie might come & see us for can get cheap rates that we cant get going back there. Well I will have to close. I expect Less will write some to night. so I will leave some room for him. now dont do as I have done but answer soon. Give my love to Carrie & family & tell them to write soon & Often. love to all. I close & remain as ever your loveing Sister

Sue White
