Nett-Helen Letters

Letter from Mrs. J.F. (Mamie) Newcome to Helen - Late 1889

Return to Index

Well Sister Clark here I am again. I have been interrupted so many times since I began this letter that I hardly know what I have written. Mr Newcomb's oldest sister is visiting us from Celina. she has been with us about a month. she is lively and we are having a nice time. Miss Reisinger has been here about 6 weeks. Miss Haines Etella is here sewing and I have a great deal of company from the parish. our people are so nice and seem to love us. Papa has been with us every other week all summer. We think Mama is getting well. she is still in Mo being treated by Dr French. Papa spent a month with her in May, and will visit her again after conference. she will not likely be home for four or five months yet. We are trying to be patient but O it is so hard to have her away so long. Another letter today from dear Sister Woolf. so good She wrote me about your dear sister being taken from her loved ones so suddenly I know it is dreadful. & O so sad, but do not grieve sister Clark. You have a Savior in whom to find comfort. Write me soon. I am always anxious to here from you.

Lovingly,
Mamie

excuse this soiled sheet. I realy am ashamed to send it but dont be particular about how your letter looks to me.
