Mt. Bethel Methodist Church at Paddytown, Somerset County, PA

Circa 1914, the congregation of the Mt. Bethel Methodist Church in Paddytown, Somerset County, PA gathered for a formal photograph, taken in a panorama format to capture the wide sweep of faces. Many of the members were direct descendants of one of the church's early pastors, Rev. Herman Younkin. In fact, the man at far left is the pastor's elderly son, John F. Younkin.

Also in view behind the group is the church building and sign to the adjoining cemetery. Both the building and sign are gone today, but the burying patch remains.

The wide horizontal image has been cropped in five equal sections. Numbers will be added to these images and a list of respective names prepared for identification of faces where known.
