Occupy Like the Farmer
By
Rev. Dr. William "Bradford" Harbaugh

The fruit farmer is allegorized to help God's children see
how living out lives of patience is a much needed quality.

The farmer patiently toils and labors while waiting for the rain.
He trusts the :Lord to send it while focusing on his trade.

No turning away nor ceasing from the daily attention it demands,
For the patient, hardworking farmer cultivates God's land.

Each day he sets before The Thrones the pressures of that day
Then faithfully completes his duties that before Him God has laid.

Oh! Teach us Lord from fruit farmers, to occupy till you descend!

To be actively, patiently toiling in the field You've called us to tend.

The harvest one day will be fruitful, when the Blessed Hope makes His call,

But until that day may we focus, labor and trust him through it all!

"Therefore, brothers, be patient until the Lord's coming.

See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the

earth and is patient with it until it receives the early and

the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your

hearts for the coming of the Lord is at hand."

James 5:7-8
