Calvin C. Miner
(1870-1946)

Calvin C. Miner was born in 1870 near Southington, Trumbull County, OH, the son of John and Elizabeth Miner.

He apparently never married, and with his bachelor brother Theodore Miner were longtime farmers in Trumbull Township, Ashtabula County, OH.

Calvin and Theodore boarded together in 1910 with the family of George and Elmina Garstenshlager in Jefferson Township, Ashtabula County, OH. They worked for their landlord as laborers in his saw mill.

By 1920, the brothers had purchased their own farm, in Trumbull Township, Ashtabula County, and resided under the same roof. They remained on this farm for at least a decade, and are shown there together in the federal census of 1930.

Calvin apparently retired in about 1934 and moved to Geneva, Ashtabula County, OH.

Suffering from chronic myocarditis, Calvin died of the effects of the illness at the age of 77 on April 1, 1946. He was buried at Dorset, Ashtabula County.

The informant on his death certificate was Mrs. Carl Hawes, who shared his address at 478 South Broadway in Geneva.
