Margaret Lavera (Miner) Vaughn
(1905-1987)

Margaret Lavera (Miner) Vaughn was born on on Aug. 4, 1905 in Marion Twp., Polk County, MO, the daughter of Daniel L. and Mary Elizabeth (Hodges) Minerd.

As a girl, she migrated with her parents and siblings to Iowa.

On May 15, 1926, Margaret married Ed A. "Clyde" Vaughn (1895-1991), a native of Burksville, Cumberland County, KY. Clyde was a military veteran of World War I.

They had two sons -- Clarence A. Vaughn and Laurence Dean Vaughn, both born in Iowa. Sadly, son Lawrence died at age three, on Valentine's Day 1931.

Early in the marriage, the Vaughns also resided in Otho, Webster County, IA. They are enumerated there in the federal census of 1930, with Clyde listed as working as a laborer at a local brick yard.

At some point the Vaughns migrated to Washington State, settling in the Vancouver area of Clark County.

Margaret died on Oct. 23, 1987 in Vancouver.

Clyde lived to the age of 96, and passed away in Battle Ground, Clark County, WA on Nov. 15, 1991.
