Virginia (Riley) Snyder, daughter of John S. and Mary Belle (Minerd) Riley, was a pioneering flight attendant for TWA Airlines in the 1930s, at a time when such a position required a nursing degree.  Virginia obtained her education in Philadelphia before joining TWA circa 1939, and initially served the Kansas City to New York route.  She later married Ralph V. Snyder, settled in Youngwood, PA, and had 2 daughters.  This photo was taken in Chicago in September 1939, with a TWA passenger who was a nationally known television and radio comedian.  Can you name the famous celebrity?  Click here to register your guess!
