This "May Magic" quilt pattern, of flowers in the shape of a heart, was made by by Jean (Shoemaker) Ayars in honor of the day she met her husband, James Arthur Ayars, on the first day of May. It won first prize for "original design" at the 1995 Kentucky State Fair. Jim is a descendant of Uriah and Matilda (Bodle) Minerd of Carson City and Hubbardston, MI.
