Jean (Shoemaker) Ayars' "Tulips" design was the first one she entered into competition. It received second prize in the 1991 Kentucky State Fair. Her husband, James Arthur Ayars, is a descendant of Uriah and Matilda (Bodle) Minerd of Carson City and Hubbardston, MI.
