Dear Member,

The thirteenth annual reunion of the descendants of David Leander Laughery and Martha Jane Harbaugh will be held at 80 Magnolia Drive, Seaford, Delaware, the home of David and Vicky Laughery, on Sunday, August 21, 1977, at 1 P.M. Please bring a covered dish, place setting for your family, folding chairs and tables.  There will be lots of good food, games and fun.

This year there will be a celebration of a Golden Wedding Anniversary. Art and Kathryn Laughery will be married fifty years this November 27th.  This is a surprise celebration.  So please try and come to the picnic this year.  If you can’t come, please try and drop me a line telling about your family. The thirteenth annual reunion of the descendants of David Leander Laughery and Martha Jane Harbaugh was held Sunday, August 21 at the home of David and Vickie Laughery in Seaford.  Members and guests enjoyed a picnic lunch,  homemade cake and ice cream and a very pleasant day. President Loretta Downes welcomed everyone and thanked David and Vickie for the use of their home for the picnic.  Jean Laughery asked the blessing.  Then it was dinnertime.  Potato salad was a popular dish to bring.

After dinner, Loretta called everyone together.  Each head of household introduced their family then had family group pictures taken by William J. Means. Secretary-treasurer JoAnn Moore read the minutes and the treasurer’s report.  [Missing notes]charge of entertainment next year. Harry Winand kept the children busy for a while playing games.  Then everyone enjoyed the homemade cake and ice cream. A record attendance for this year was 56.

New family members:

• Dawn Lea Rogers born June 28, 1977, daughter of Wayne and Betty Jane Rogers
• Jennifer Erin Winand born May 13, 1977, daughter of Stephen and Karen Winand
• Teresa Smith married Bobby Thompson - May 1, 1977 
• Karen Case became Mrs. Matthew Alan Holman in March.

Each head of household introduced their family.  Then family pictures were taken by William J. Means.
