The 45th Laughery Reunion of the family of David Leander Laughery and Martha Jane Harbaugh was held on Sunday August 23rd, 2009 at Lelia-Hynson Pavilion Wilmer Park in Chestertown, MD.
Thirty members were in attendance. We gathered around 12:30 PM and enjoyed good fellowship until dinner was enjoyed by all. Our president, Steve Winand welcomed everyone and Ron Case gave the grace. Everyone enjoyed food prepared by the good cooks in our family. The weather' was nice, with a cool breeze coming in from the river.
After the meal, Steve Winand held a short business meeting. There was one new birth, Taylor Ann Strong, born on May 29th, 2009 to the proud parents Jamie and Nikki Strong. Nancy Thompson could not attend this year due to illness. Loretta has the time capsule, which was started in the year 2000 stored in her basement. We decided to leave it in tact and possibly start a new one next year in 2010. Loretta Downes will attempt to obtain the Farmington Fire Hall for next year's Reunion. We will try to get it for the 3rd weekend of August.
Officers for 2010 are:
- President - Tim Douglas,
- Vice President - Kim Douglas, and
- Sec. and Treas. - Ron and Peggy Case.
Dayna Winand will assist Ron in sending out our invitations for our next year’s reunion. Treas. Report: Balance forward from last year $72. Dues collected $60. Exp. for the park $75, and for postage $19, leaving a balance of $38.
