The 48th annual Laughery Reunion, of the family of David Leander Laughery and Martha Jane Harbaugh, was held on Saturday August 18th, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Greenwood VFW Hall, Greenwood, Delaware. The weather was pleasant after some very hot weather this year, and air conditioning made it more comfortable.

There were 17 members present. Our President, Karen Holman welcomed everyone and opened the reunion with some thoughts about the importance of family and her memories from years past. Ron Case gave the Grace, and we enjoyed all the good food supplied by everyone.

After the meal, Karen opened the business meeting with a moment of silence for Vicky (Molly) Laughery, and Bill Means, our deceased members since our last reunion. We had one new birth, Matthew Allen Webb Jr., born Feb. 25, 2012, son of Matt and Robin Webb.

Karen and Matt Holman traveled the farthest distance from Sarasota, FL to attend the reunion.

Secretary Ron Case read the minutes and treasurer's report from our last reunion held on Aug. 20th, 2011. There was one correction. Nancy Thompson brought up the fact that since our first gathering was held in August of 1963, this reunion was actually our 49th, and next year will be our 50th. It was agreed to celebrate our 50th next year at the home of David Laughery in Seaford DE with David, his daughter Sheila and his granddaughter Bridgette hosting.
