Nett-Helen Letters

Letter from Nett to Ross - Undated 1885

Return to Index

My dear little Ross,

I will answer your dear little letter for I dont want you to quit writing. I like to read your letters. They sound so much like your talk. I dont believe you do write as well as you did last winter. I have a meal sack with some of your writing on that is just real good. Yes Mabel is just as noisy & jolly as can be & if you was here she could find you & Blanch faster than you could hide. you wouldnt have time to say peep Mabel. she calls her baby Coy after little Coy Martin. if she goes over to your house you will think she is a sweet little girl. Mabel wants to go to Coy Martins house every day. I saw your school teachers little boy Fred last night & he looked like you use to. he had been writing in his second reader & run up to his uncle Mort & said there is some of my smartness. him & Mabel has lots of fun together. he will let her sit in his little rocking chair & hold his kitten while he drives his oxen. which is strings tied to his high chair. dont you feel proud of your little Sister having 10 head marks. & its so nice to have her go to school with you. Mabel looks more like her every day. the same sweet tender brown eyes & Loving disposition. O how I would love to see all of you. be good to your Ma & carry wood in for her. & eat apples for your Aunt Nett. & kiss your Pa Ma & Blanche & they must kiss you for me. good bye & write again to your Aunt Nett.
