Above, newspaper coverage of the first annual Minerd Reunion as published in the Connellsville (PA) Daily Courier, Aug. 22, 1913. Below, similar coverage of that first event in the Uniontown (PA) Morning Herald, Aug. 22, 1913.

FIFTH IN A SERIES - As we prepare to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the first annual Minerd Reunion, held in Western Pennsylvania in 1913, these two newspaper clippings provide a fascinating glimpse into that first event. At our upcoming national reunion on July 12-13, 2003, we will celebrate the anniversary of that landmark gathering, as well as the dedication of a US military grave marker for our pioneer and Revolutionary War ancestor, Jacob Minerd Sr, the "father of us all."
