Kathryn (Minerd) Hughes
(1906-1975)

Kathryn (Minerd) Hughes -- also spelled "Catherine" -- was born on May 22, 1906 near Uniontown, Fayette County, PA, the daughter of James L. and Catherine (Whalen) Minerd.

She lived in New York City in 1933-1936 with her sister Margaret; in 1938 at the time of her father's death; and in 1941 at the time Margaret died.

The federal census enumeration of 1940 lists her living in an apartment building on West 94th Street and using the name "Minerd." Her occupation that year was as a typist in an office.

Kathryn married a man named Hughes ( ? - ? )  The couple did not reproduce.

She was still making her home in New York City when her sister Hazel Johnson died in 1967.

In time she returned to the Pittsburgh area and died there in July 1975.
