1980

The 51st annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 27, 1980 at the Mountain Fellowship Center east of Uniontown along US 40. The meeting was opened by President Charles Harbaugh. A prayer was given by Uncle Lloyd Hall before lunch time. Reading of the minutes by Oscar Harbaugh. Ted Harbaugh accepted the reading of the minutes and seconded by Uncle Lloyd Hall. Charles gave a few jokes. We sang happy birthday to Marcie Harbaugh, Pauline Harbaugh & brother Harold Harbaugh better known as “Hub.” Voted to stay at the same place for our 1981 reunion instead of the building. Officers will be in charge of the annual awards. Decided to keep same officers. Games for children to be taken care of by Julie, Tressa & Marcie. No old business. New business that we would buy restaurant coffee pot to be kept by Marlene Schnatterly. Also she is to furnish coffee, cream and sugar. Meeting closed with a prayer given by Charles Harbaugh.

1981

The 52nd annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 26, 1981 at the Mountain Fellowship Center 17 miles east of Uniontown along US 40. The meeting was opened by President Charles Harbaugh. A prayer was given by Uncle Lloyd Hall Sr. Reading of the minutes by Oscar Harbaugh. President Charles Harbaugh accepted the reading of the minutes, seconded by Uncle Lloyd Hall. Brother Charles and Cliff gave us some jokes which kept us laughing for awhile, which helped to settle our dinner down a little. Business we had was sister Marlene bought a coffee pot for to be used at the reunion, which cost $20.00. Motion was made by Naomi Hall that we pay for the coffee pot and it was seconded by Uncle Lloyd. Voted on that we stay at the same site for our 1982 reunion. Lunch time 12:30 pm. Officers will be in charge of the annual awards. Voted that we keep same officers for the Harbaugh Reunion. Meeting was closed with a prayer by Charles Harbaugh.

1982

The 53rd Annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 25, 1982, at the Mountain Fellowship Center 17 miles east of Uniontown along US 40. The meeting was opened by President Charles Harbaugh. A prayer was given by Mrs. Naomi Hall. Reading of minutes by Charles Harbaugh and were accepted by Lloyd Hall Jr. and seconded by Ted Harbaugh. There was no new business and no old business. Mrs. Ted Harbaugh and Betty Lou Tressler is supposed to take care of the games for the kiddies for 1983. Voted on that we stay at the Mountain Fellowship Center for our 1983 reunion. Lunch time 12:30 pm. Officers will be in charge of annual awards. Charles Harbaugh took a nose count and came up with 60 present. Voted on that we keep same officers for the Harbaugh Reunion. Meeting was closed with a prayer by Charles Harbaugh.

1983

The 54th Annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 24, 1983 at the Mountain Fellowship Center, 17 miles east of Uniontown along US 40. The meeting was opened with prayer given by Clifford Harbaugh. Reading of the minutes by Oscar was OK. There was no old business. New business was that Oscar and Charles was supposed to check on two camp sites for our next reunion. Games for the kiddies is supposed to be taken care of by Julie and Mary Jane. Cliff moved to close the meeting and it was seconded by Richard. Meeting closed. Voted on that we stay at the Mountain Fellowship Center for our 1984 reunion. Officers will be in charge of the annual awards to be given out. New officers for 1984:

1984

 

The 55th annual Harbaugh Reunion was held July 22 – 1984 at Mt. Fellowship Center 17 miles east of Uniontown on Rte. 40. Before our meal, Naomi Hall returned thanks. Following the lunch period, our meeting was called to order by Pres. Ted Harbaugh – Opening prayer by Clifford Harbaugh. While Sec. Treas. Report was being read by Chas. Harbaugh, the collection was taken. Minutes & Treas report from previous reunion were approved. Old Business – none. New business – Charles Harbaugh brought to the attention of all present that since he was now sec. Treas. And that our present excess of money was in the bank in a savings account that he would not be treasurer if money remained in bank. He suggested that no collections be made at future reunions until present funds were exhausted. Then each year take a collection to get enough to cover expenses for that year. After considerable discussion with several alternatives mentioned, it was finally moved & seconded and so ordered that former Sec. Treasurer Oscar Harbaugh withdraw all funds from bank & turn over to present Sec. Treas. All annual awards in the future are to be accepted & kept by the receiver. Previously the awards in the form of cash were returned to the treasurer.

In the future, officers will be elected to a 2-year term. Officers will be elected in 1985 – so ordered. The question of a photographer to take group pictures was then discussed. Arden Schnatterly offered his services to do this with a cost of only for film & developing, to be paid for from collection funds. It was moved & seconded & so ordered. Our reunion to be held at present site for next year. New business ended. Games for kiddies were conducted following meeting by Julie & Mary Jane. Julie & Eilene will handle same next year.

1985

The 56th annual Harbaugh Reunion was held July 28, 1985 at Mt. Fellowship Center, 18 miles east of Uniontown, Pa., on Route 40. Before our lunch, Charles Harbaugh returned thanks. After lunch, our meeting was called to order by Pres. Ted Harbaugh – Prayer by Florence Ream. Sec. Treas. Report was read by Charles Harbaugh. Minutes & Treas. Report from previous reunion were approved as read. Old business – none. New business – Pres. Ted Harbaugh suggested that officers in the future not succeed themselves. After some discussion it was moved, seconded & so ordered. Election of officers was next held. New officers are:

 

  • Pres. – Richard Harbaugh
  • Vice Pres. – Ted Harbaugh
  • Sec. Treasurer – Gary Tressler

Officers will be elected again in 1987. By unanimous vote our reunion will be held at present site in 1986. The parties responsible for kiddies games failed to show. Dolores Harbaugh & Betty Tressler went to a local store and got what was needed for the kiddies. They conducted the games for kiddies following meeting. Jeri Harbaugh & Denise Kister will have games for kiddies in 1986. By nose count 80 were in attendance.

  • Traveled Farthest – Mr. & Mrs. Donald Scott – 1,206 miles – Port Richey, Fla.
  • Largest Family – Mr. & Mrs. Robert Harbaugh and Mr. & Mrs. Richard Harbaugh – 4 each. Note: Richard allowed Mr. & Mrs. Robt. Harbaugh the award. In case of a tie, both should have received award.

1986

The 57th Annual Harbaugh Reunion was held July 27th, 1986 at the Mt. Fellowship Center – 18 miles east of Uniontown, Pa., on Route 40. Before lunch Florence Ream returned thanks. After lunch our meeting was called to order by Charles Harbaugh with a word of prayer. The meeting was conducted by Vice President Ted Harbaugh – President Richard Harbaugh was away at work – couldn’t attend. Sec-Treas. Report was read by Gary Tressler. Minutes & Treas. Report from previous Reunion were approved as read. Old Business – None. New Business – Sec. Treas. Gary Tressler suggested that persons in charge of games be elected for a two-year term, the same as officers. It was moved – seconded and so ordered. Jeri Harbaugh & Diane Kister will have games in 1987. By unanimous vote our Reunion will be held at the present site in 1987 including the rent increase. Awards were as follows:

  • Married Longest – Mr. & Mrs. Robert Harbaugh – 63 years

  • Youngest Child – Fred Balsley – 6½ months (Julie Clevenger’s son)
  • Traveled Farthest – Eugene Ream – 130 miles – Pleasant Gap, Pa.
  • Largest Family – Ted & Dolores Harbaugh – 5 children

1987

The 58th Annual Harbaugh Reunion was held July 26, 1987 at the Mt. Fellowship Center – 18 miles east of Uniontown, Pa., on Route 40. Before lunch, Ollie Hall returned thanks. After lunch our meeting was called to order by Charles Harbaugh with a word of prayer. The meeting was conducted by President Richard Harbaugh. Sec.-Treas. report was read by Gary Tressler. Minutes & Treas. Report from previous Reunion were approved as read. Old Business: none. New Business: Bingo was approved by unanimous vote to be handled by Betty Tressler for the next 2 years – and then to be voted for a 2-year term just like the officers. Also the prizes for bingo to be taken out of collection. Our reunion will be held at the present site in 1988 by unanimous vote. Election of officers was next held – for a 2-year term.

The 59th Annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 24, 1988 at the Mt. Fellowship Center – 18 miles east of Uniontown, Pa., on Route 40. Before lunch Florence Ream returned thanks. After lunch our meeting was called to order and conducted by Jim Fisher. The Secretary-Treasurer report was read by Betty Harbaugh. The minutes and treasurer report from the previous reunion were approved as read. Old Business: none. New Business: Charlie is to call management about more picnic tables for next year. Our reunion will be held at the present site in 1989 by unanimous vote. Awards are as follows:

 

  • Oldest Woman: Ollie Hall – 87 years
  • Oldest Man: Robert Harbaugh – 86 years
  • Longest Married: Mr. & Mrs. Robert Harbaugh – 64 years
  • Shortest Married: Allan and Katy Bogus – 10 mo.

  • Traveled Farthest: Dave Hall – 218 mi. – Charleston, WV
  • Largest family: Ted & Dolores Harbaugh – 8 – 6 children

Offering $147.01, including $12 from bean game. Charles Harbaugh closed with a word of prayer and a moment of silence for those who’ve gone on before us. By nose count 91 were in attendance.

1989

The 60th Annual Harbaugh Reunion was held on July 23, 1989 at the Mt. Fellowship Center – 18 miles east of Uniontown, Pa., on Route 40. Before lunch, Jim Fisher returned thanks. After lunch our meeting was called to order by Pres. Jim Fisher. The secretary treasurer report was read by Betty Harbaugh. The minutes and treasurer report from the previous reunion were approved as read. Old Business: A Vote was taken to hold the reunion in the building next year. Rent will be fifty dollars. New Business: Next year we will hold a white elephant sale on a volunteer basis. A separate table will be set up to hold the items. All money will go toward the reunion. Election of officers:
